Meet Jennifer Blair
She’s a mother, beauty enthusiast, inspirational leader, entrepreneur, and Founder & CEO of Deka Lash. After Jennifer found herself feeling discouraged by how inaccessible lash extensions were to everyday women–she set out to solve the problem herself.
She always felt a surge of unapologetic confidence when she would get a fresh set of lashes. She went through a lash certification course (and since lashes weren’t mainstream at that time, she had to ask her mom to sign up with her in order to meet the course’s minimum number of participants!) and opened up a one-bed studio in Pittsburgh, PA.
Her Passion
“Growing up, I was kind of surrounded by beauty and the beauty industry. My mother worked in a hair salon. And so when I was young, I grew up watching her do that. And it was something that I felt would be rewarding, being in the beauty industry. You are making people feel beautiful and helping them, so that also was just part of my DNA. That’s something that I always enjoy doing, being around people, socializing, talking and making people feel good.”

Where Did "Deka" Come From?
Deka is a combination of the names of Jennifer’s two daughters, Demi and Karli. Family is really important to Jennifer, so it was a no-brainer to name the business she puts her heart and soul into. Seen above: Jennifer Blair with daughters, Karli and Demi, and mom, Cyndy—all of whom are actively involved in Deka Lash today. And yes, they are all rocking their favorite set of lashes!

Jennifer’s vision of creating accessibility around luxury experiences didn’t stop at the lashes–she designed a unique, more transparent open studio that fosters community and collaboration, developed a differentiated lash artist training program, and built a unique and special culture. Her story inspires us to help empower every woman who walks into our studio.
Today, Deka Lash offers a variety of lash and brow services across studios nationwide. We also have our own proprietary line of cruelty-free lash care products both in-studio and online.
